Eligibility
- Any hospital that practises modern medicine in the state of Kerala is eligible to join the Association as a member.
- Any facility that practises contemporary medicine and has inpatient facilities is referred to as a hospital.
- The hospital will be represented by those who have been permitted by the institution’s management.
- The hospital administration must permit two or more people in line with Part IV Section B Clause 1 and sub-clause 1 of the Rules for Member Representation (b).
- The following are the representatives of the member hospitals:-
- Owner, Chairman, Managing Director, or Partner of the hospital’s public or private limited firm.
- Superintendent of Medical Services.
- Director / Partner / Manager / Secretary / Executive Director
- Officer in Charge of Administration
- HR Manager/Public Relations Officer
- Persons in categories (a) to (f) above must be authorised by the hospital management to represent the hospital for a minimum of two years. The management must send a list of representatives, together with their addresses and phone numbers, to the local Unit Secretary in three copies. After signing and serially numbering, the Unit Secretary will transmit one copy to the General Secretary and return one copy to the hospital management.
- By delivering an authorised letter, the hospital management has the power to delegate any other person to attend meetings in the absence of the normal representatives, and in such event, he or she has voting rights at the meetings.
Type of Membership
1) Any hospital listed in Part IV section A, sub-clause (a), can become a member by submitting an application and paying the subscription set by the Association from time to time. The following are the names of the two people that will represent the member hospital:
- Type 1 by two representatives, (One from part IV-A-2-a and one from part IV-A-2-b).
- Type II by three representatives (one each from part IV A-2-a,b,c).
- Type III by four representatives From all categories of part IV-A-2
- Type IV by five representatives
- Type V and VI by six representatives.
- The subscription for each type of hospital will vary and be set by the State Governing Body from time to time, with the following general body sessions ratifying it.
- If the person representing a member hospital resigns, dies, or otherwise leaves the position, the management has the right to appoint another person to fill the vacancy for the remainder of his tenure.
2) Associate members-Anyone who owns or operates a modern medicine clinic is entitled to join the Association as an Associate Member.
- He or she must fill out an application and pay the subscription fee.
- The associate member will be able to attend local unit meetings and state general body meetings and participate in debates, but will not be able to vote.
- Associate members, like regular members, are entitled to receive a copy of the journal and other communications.
- The State President shall nominate two associate members to the SGB with voting powers.

- Local units are responsible for collecting the membership fee.
- Every year, it must be collected by the 31st of March.
- Those who do not pay their subscription by the 30th of June of the election year will be unable to vote in the election of the office Bearers.
- Those who fail to pay their subscription on or before the 31st of December will have their membership terminated and will be required to clear their arrears in order to renew their membership the following year. A fine of Rs.500/- will be imposed on those who fail to pay their subscription on or before the 31st of December.
B)Legal Fee
- It is necessary to pay legal expenses on a yearly basis.

Term of Association
The term of the Association shall be from January 1st to December 31st of the following calendar year, a period of two calendar years.
Members Privileges
- The payment of the annual subscription along with the application for membership entitles the member to all KPHA membership benefits as of the date of payment.
- A member is entitled to a copy of the Association’s circulars, journals, and other publications.
- All representatives of member hospitals and associate members are entitled to attend and participate in all general body meetings, as well as any specially called meetings, seminars, conferences, and protests, organised by the organisation.
- In the election of the office bearers, all members, except associate members, are eligible to vote.
- All members, with the exception of associate members, have the opportunity to run for office if they meet all of the election eligibility requirements.
- All members will be entitled to any additional benefits that the Association may grant in the future.
Termination of Membership
1. Membership can be revoked by resigning.

- A member can resign by giving the local unit Chairman 30 days’ notice.
- All dues must be paid by the member.
- Within a week of receiving the resignation and the state part of the dues paid, the local unit shall notify the Hon: General Secretary by forwarding the resignation and his comments.
- The resignation will be accepted by the General Secretary, who will discuss with the President before removing the member’s name from the rolls. Within the time limit, he will inform the concerned member of the situation, along with a copy to the local unit.
- If he and the President believe there is a severe issue to be brought before the SGB, the Gen: Secretary may leave it pending until the next SGB meeting, and the subject will be communicated to the affected member.
- The topic will be discussed at the next SGB meeting, and members will have the opportunity to express their opinions, with the SGB’s choices being final.
2. Due to nonpayment of dues within the specified time, membership may be cancelled by the removal of a member’s name. Before the termination, two reminders must be provided, the latest of which must be sent by registered mail with acknowledgement.
3. An associate member’s membership will be cancelled if he or she is convicted in a court of law. The representatives of the member hospital will be removed from the meeting.
Re-Admission of Members
- On receipt of an application for membership, the subscription, and a recommendation from a member of the local unit, any member who was removed from the rolls as per Section G1 and G2 may be re-admitted by the concerned local unit.
- By a simple majority of the SGB, any member who was dismissed under section G3 may be re-admitted after the suspension period has expired.
